Honor and Remember Ceremony, June 19, 2010

Honor and Remember Flag
The Vermont Fallen Heroes Families hosted a ceremony at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, Vermont, on June 19th, 2010, at 3 PM, for the presentation of two personalized "Honor and Remember" flags.  Mr. George Lutz, founder of Honor and Remember, Inc., will visit all 50 states to promote this charitable foundation.  You can go to his website to learn more about it:  www.honorandremember.org

The Vermont Fallen Families felt it would be difficult to choose one family from its group to receive this prestegious flag, so they have voted to have one flag personalized with "Vermont Fallen Heroes" that will fly at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery to honor all fallen from all wars.

The second flag was presented to a Gold Star Mother from a previous war, 82 year old Olive Pettis from West Haven and Castleton, VT, who lost her son in Vietnam.  It has been 41 years since her son Steven (KIA 05-14-69) was killed in action  and she is very pleased to be the recipient of the flag.
