5. You do not need to do the ride to participate and collect donations.
6. It is recommended that each participant ask all their neighbors, friends, relatives, employers, co-workers, businesses (especially those whom you personally do business with) to sponsor you. Also, a helpful hint: Start by listing a larger donation first, such as $100., not $1. Everyone will want to know what everyone else is giving and do the same.
7. All checks must be made out to: VT Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund (VFHGMF) All monies collected will go directly to fund the construction and maintenance of a memorial/monument to all those that have served, are serving, will serve and those that have fallen from Vermont for the Global War on Terror (GWOT) **We are a 501c3 charitable corporation and all donations are tax deductible allowable by law.
8. Any single donation of over $250.00 MUST have the full and complete name and address of the donor. Space is provided on the front of your donation envelope.
9. There are 32 different locations designated “OFFICIAL PIT STOP” for participants to collect “chips” as an additional incentive to win a prize. These chips will be available ONLY on the day of the ride, July 30, 2011 from 6am to 5pm. Each stop will have chips with their business name on the back and one of the fallen soldier’s names on the front. You will randomly select a single chip from each Official Pit Stop. You may only collect ONE chip from each stop.
10. To qualify for a winning hand, you must have at least 5 chips from 5 different businesses. To build a winning hand, you will need to have at least a pair of the same soldier’s name on different business chips. The highest winning hand will be 5 chips with the same soldier’s name on it, from 5 different businesses. (Example: PFC Kyle Gilbert from Lucky’s Motor Sales, Wilkins Harley Davidson, LandAir, Essex Harley Davidson dealership and Heroes Welcome Store) The more “Pit Stops” you go to, the better your odds of building a winning hand. In the event of more than one “5 of a kind” hand, those participant’s names will go into a hat for a winner to be drawn.
11. BONUS: There will be available at the end of the ride, Wilkins Harley Dealership, a chance to purchase “one last chance” chip for a fee of $10.00.
